Shawni

Meet Shawni! 

She’s an amazing woman who’s recently become a single mum to her 3 beautiful kids. Her children are her world and she wanted photos of them as they embark on their next journey as a family. Shawni also invited along her mother-in-law and the kid’s Auntiena as they’ve been an amazing help raising her babies. Isn’t that just gorgeous? 

 Shawni told me that her favourite photos are the ones where the kids are happy - and are with her. They’re just so special! 

 I absolutely loved that they all came to their family photoshoot in beautiful outfits and bare feet - perfect for photos at the tahunanui beach. What made the shoot so great was that Shawni was comfortable for them all to turn up and just be themselves. She didn’t worry about the fact that her kids were behaving like kids and it lead to some great authenticity in the photos. 

 Shawni and her whanau chose to have their family photoshoot at the beach as that’s a place they love and where they feel comfortable. It’s great because they had space to run around and organically explore (oh, and hunt for pine cones…). 

 The thing that made my heart soar was watching Malakai look after his younger siblings - he’s such an amazing big brother. How cool is it that I got to capture that!

 “My kids love looking at our special photos. It’s such a special thing to have done and look back on, plus Victoria makes you feel so comfortable even when you have crazy full on wee ones! She managed to catch some beautiful photos of me and my babies even whilst they weren’t cooperating. We are in love with our photos!”
