Why I Created This Campaign

I’ve been photographing women for 16 years. Back in Wellington, I did a lot of Boudoir shoots for women who were getting married, mostly it was a gift for their husbands (a pretty amazing gift mind you). They were mostly young, effortlessly beautiful, and honestly, it was pretty light and easy.

But then something started to shift in me. I realized that women shouldn’t be doing this for someone else.

They should be doing it for themselves.
I didn't tell anyone this, but the universe seemed to pick it up, when I moved to Nelson I started attracting a different kind of client.  They would say “I’m 50, fuck it. I want to do something for myself.”

These were women who had spent years taking care of everyone else - children, parents, partners, pets - and were finally ready to reconnect with themselves.
Many had never liked a single photo of themselves, carrying childhood comments and beliefs that shaped how they saw themselves - each one with a different story or reason why they avoided photos:
“I’ve never quite lost the baby weight.”
“I slouch because I’ve always felt too tall.”
“I don’t like showing my arms.”
“My mum told me never to show my teeth when I smile, and it’s stuck with me.”

In my studio, there’s one rule. No holding back a smile.
Nothing looks more awkward than a half-smile - like you’re holding something in.
But a genuine smile and a full-body laugh?
That changes everything - it was transformative.

I feel there is nothing more beautiful than a fully uninhibited laugh.
I became absolutely hooked on changing how women feel about themselves.
That’s when I knew: THIS is the work I want to do. So, I created a campaign around it.

This is Me.

I honestly met the MOST courageous women. Some confronting lifelong fears of being photographed, others shedding outdated beliefs that no longer served them.

And now, it’s time to launch it again. But this time, it’s evolving.

A New Approach to Portraits

Lately, I’ve been drawn to something different in my work - a deeper kind of storytelling. Photography has always been about connection for me: capturing emotions, moments, and the essence of a person in a way that feels honest and real. But recently, I’ve found myself gravitating toward a more understated approach, one that feels intimate, raw, and beautifully unfiltered.

It’s no secret that I love creating bold, glamorous portraits. There’s power in transformation, in seeing yourself in a way you never have before. But there’s also power in stripping it all back and celebrating what’s raw and real. Both approaches have their own beauty, their own story to tell.

So, for this campaign, you get to choose how you want to be seen.

  • The Full Transformation – Be pampered with gorgeous hair and makeup. Whether you want full glam or a natural, beachy, effortless “no-makeup” look, we’ll create a style that reflects you.
  • The Minimalist Approach – Come as you are, doing your own hair and makeup to whatever degree feels right for you.
  • The RAW Portrait – Completely stripped back, no makeup, just you and the light. You can read more about RAW shoots here.

Photography is limitless. There’s always something new to explore. But here are some starting concepts for your session:

  • Classic Boudoir – Elegant, sensual, and timeless.
  • Super Saucy Boudoir – Bold, daring, and fully embracing your power.
  • Dark & Moody – Deep shadows, soft highlights, and an ethereal glow.
  • Movement & Expression – Raw, unfiltered, and full of life.
  • A Fusion of Everything – Let’s blend styles to create something uniquely you.

It’s about discovering and celebrating the beauty that already exists - not in what’s added, but in what’s inherently yours - the shapes, the curves, the textures, and the unspoken expressions that tell your story.

The Art of Seeing Yourself

As I continue to grow and evolve as a photographer, I find myself inspired by contrast - the interplay of light and dark, the bold and subtle, the polished and undone. There’s something so captivating about leaning into what feels natural, and embracing imperfection as part of the story.

This shift in my work has been energising. With the guidance of an incredible mentor, I’ve been refining my craft, pushing the boundaries of light and shadow, and creating images that are more than just portraits - they are fine art.

They don’t just capture how you look; they reveal who you are.

If you’re ready to step into this experience, to see yourself through a new lens, and to create something extraordinary, let’s make it happen.

Because this is you. And you ARE ART.

Who This IS for.

  • If you’re feeling a little lost or unseen. If life has been throwing big changes your way, and you need something just for you.
  • If you don’t have a single photo of yourself that you love - one that truly reflects who you are.
  • If the thought of being photographed makes you hesitate, but deep down, you want to see yourself differently.
  • If you’re stepping into a new chapter and want to mark this moment in a meaningful way.
  • If you’re ready to change the way you feel about your body - not by altering it, but by seeing it with fresh eyes.
  • If you want to experience the beauty that others already see in you.

Who This Campaign is Not For

  • If you're looking for a quick, one-size-fits-all experience.
  • If you want heavy retouching, body shape edits, or airbrushed perfection.
  • If you prefer images that smooth out every detail and erase individuality.

This is about celebrating who you are, as you are - with soul, guidance and artistry..
